USC Track & Field

Last Wednesday, Apr. 23 the annual Tommy Athletic Awards were held at Galen Center. Here is a quick listing of the USC Track athletes honored on Wednesday:

 

2007

 

BEST INDIVIDUAL MALE PERFORMANCE

Stenn Parton

for his javelin throw that helped defeat the bruins in last year's dual meet

 

BEST MALE RECORD-BREAKING PERFORMANCE

Noah Bryant

for setting a new school record in the shot put 67' 51/2

 

BEST FEMALE ATHLETE of the YEAR

Candice Davis

4-time All-American; PAC-10 Champion and NCAA runner-up in 100 Hurdles

 

BEST MALE ATHLETE of the YEAR

Noah Bryant

2007 NCAA shot put champion both indoor and outdoor

 

MALE TEAM of the YEAR

Men's Track & Field

 

SCHOLAR-ATHLETES of the YEAR

(only two were selected, both track athletes)

Lindsay Oman & Philip Allen

Lindsay is a double major in Occupational therapy & Communication. She is a Heptathlete, #8 on the USC top ten list and was named to the PAC-10 All-Academic First Team.

 

Phillip is a Music Industry major, has the highest GPA on the team, named to the Dean's List and is a MarksScholar-Athlete. He is a long & triple jumper.

It should also be noted that the track and cross country teams accounted for 71 athletes with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.
