USC and the NCAAs |
In 1926, the USC track team won the first national championship for the University. Since then USC has gone on to dominate intercollegiate athletics winning an incredible 106* NCAA Championships.
Leading all USC sports is Track & Field with 29 NCAA Championships (not to mention another 54 top 10 finishes; that's 83 top 10 finishes in 86 years of the NCAA Championships. These numbers include the NCAA Indoor meet).
The following pages are dedicated to those teams and individuals who've made Trojan Track & Field Tradition what it is today.
*[this number gets bounced around depending on who you talk to and what championships get counted. Some titles were pre-NCAA and aren't counted by the NCAA (but we do). Also, the NCAA doesn't count the FB titles (again, we do, and why not). So, pick a number and enjoy] |
