I would also like to note that Bob Sbordone's trust has made a one million dollar donation to the Trojan Athletic Fund. That's pretty special.
6/24 - USA Nationals & Junior Nationals start this week in Eugene. It will be a Trojan Affair as 30 past, present, and future Trojans will be competing this weekend.

3/31 - Seems like we've been on vacation, no? That's hardly the case. OK, we are all over the place this weekend with three meets: the Stanford Invite, the Florida Relays and the California Collegiate Invite (formerly the Cal-Nevada meet).
3/17 - This weekend is the Trojan Invitational. Oregon, Wash. St., BYU, Hawaii and Long Beach St. are scheduled to compete. Hammer and discus will be Friday at Cal. St. LA starting at 1pm. The steeplechases and 5Ks will start at 6pm at USC. Schedule. Everything else begins Sat. at USC at 10am (HS Relays). First college race at 11am.
3/15 - New records set at NCAA Championships: Dior Hall lowered her hurdle mark to 8.01; Andre DeGrasse smashed the 200 school indoor record running 20.26 (old mark 20.53. Andre's time also breaks Aaron Brown's Canadian record.). The W4x400 shaved off 4 seconds running to a new record of 3:29.63. Add in Conor's new school record and I'd say we had a decent weekend.
Women tied for 12th; men tied for 9th.

2/14 - I received word yesterday we lost another of our former Trojan track members. Dr. John Cherry was a miler on the '49 team, graduated from USC Medical School and went on to become Chief of Surgery at Scripps Hospital. As I get more information, I will post it.

2/10 - I've just received word that former Trojan Track athlete Art Garcia has died. Art was the co-captain with Frank Flores of USC's 1952 NCAA Championship team. He ran both the mile and two mile and won the mile at 4:12.5 in the 1952 Pacific Coast Conference Championship Meet.
Art was also the captain of USC's first ever conference championship cross country team in 1951. He was undefeated in Cross country that year and was the individual Pacific Coast Conference champion as well as the individual Southern Pacific AAU cross country champion, both at 5,000 meters.
Art was also the vice president of Trojan Force and a hard working volunteer at our USC home track meets. He demonstrated that same competitive spirit as he fought a debilitating illness during the final years of his life. I'll post service information as soon as I receive it.
